For Yoga and Meditation Retreats

The Center
Scenic View Retreat Center is located in Anderson, Texas, a little over an hour’s drive northwest from Houston, near Navasota and College Station. The mission of the Center is to provide a quiet and peaceful setting for groups of yoga and meditation practitioners seeking retreat from urban life.

Scenic View Retreat Center sits on a hilltop of seven rural acres in Grimes County, Texas, overlooking the gently rolling hills of a national forest. The center is intimate and simple; with a quiet zen-like atmosphere. Each morning the “scenic view” from the front porch offers inspiring sunrises, while clear nights usher in brilliant moonlight and starry skies.

The center provides retreaters a chance to reconnect with the earth, to become empowered, to heal, to relax and renew your spirit. During your stay enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, picnics, watch for wildlife and birds, fly kites. Or perhaps take an afternoon nap, read a book or just be present and breathe clean country air. The healing vibration of nature helps regenerate the body, mind and spirit.

Accommodations
Scenic View Retreat Center has ten comfortable futon beds, linens included, in three separate bedrooms. Tent campers are welcome. The center is air conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter. There are one and one-half clean modern bathrooms. A full kitchen is available for preparation of delicious vegetarian meals. Studio space for yoga class accommodates up to ten people.

Retreats
Scenic View Retreat Center is wholly owned by Kay Westcott, a long time yoga instructor in Houston, Texas. The center is available to other yoga and meditation instructors to host retreats they organize. In addition, the center is open to like-minded groups for art, poetry, music retreats and camps. The center is also available, as schedule permits, for personal retreats.
